In a close conversation with Biswajeet Bora, he says that Bahniman is a huge film, not only in budget wise but also because it has a huge production value. It is a technically sounded film with a lot of twists and turns in the story. He also added that he has given his level best to make Bahniman a commercial one with limited resources. As the expectations are too high for this film, he is a bit nervous but as of now, he is fully focussed on its post production work to keep the faith of the Assamese audience alive. His last film Aisa Yeh Jahaan, released in 2015 was a pure Bollywood film. Produced by Maya Kholie, this film created cinematic history when it became the country’s first carbon-neutral film. Biswajeet Bora is a highly energetic and qualified filmmaker as he has spent many years in this field in Mumbai, India’s entertainment hub, where he was fortunate enough to observe a lot of well-known filmmakers at work, including the renowned Jahnu Barua, whom he also assisted for close to six years. The film travelled to many film festivals like the ‘Third Eye Asian Film Festival’, ‘Trissure International Festival’ and ‘Hyderabad International Film Festival’. Another film to his credit is the Angel of the aboriginals: Dr Verrier Elwin, a documentary produced by Maya Kholie in 2009, which also made its way to many international festivals. There is no doubt that Biswajeet Bora is ready to feed the audience with a refreshing all in all entertainer that amalgates action, comedy and drama. In the present times, where most of our native people are inclined to Bollywood movies, let’s hope that Bahniman would bring a new dawn in the world of Assamese motion pictures.
