Sailadhar Barua Trust has invited full length feature films from filmmakers of Assam for awards to be instituted in the name of Sailadhar Barua, a widely respected filmmaker of the State.
The trust’s president Mrinmoy Barua and secretary Ranjit Das said in a statement that films made in Assamese, Bodo, Karbi, Rabha, Mising or any other languages of the State will be accepted. The films which have been cleared by the censor board during the period January 1, 2015 to December 31, 2015 will be considered for the inaugural awards of the annual event.
There will be three awards – Best film, Best artiste and Best technical award. The awards will be handed over to the winners on January 10 next, commemorating the death anniversary of the renowned filmmaker.
Interested filmmakers can send their entries in DVD format before November 30 of 2016 to the secretary of the trust, a press release stated.
