Duet songs are commonly associated with love and romance. Like films in other languages, they have remained a consistent presence in Assamese cinema. A new book titled ‘Ki Naam Di Matim’, a compilation of about 150 film and non-film romantic duet songs, a unique and first of its kind, has recently hit the stands.
The book has been compiled and edited by noted cine-journalist Arunlochan Das and published by Jonali Das of Sishu-Sashi Prakashan. The book also features two articles – Asomiya Chabit Romantic Juti and Romantic Geetot Romantic Nayak Biju Phukan – along with attractive photographs and stills from romantic song sequences from films.
