A rising filmmaker with several awards and honors to his name, Pankaj Kalita is now all set to helm his maiden Assamese venture entitled ‘Hundred Crore’, which was recently launched in a function held at the Guwahati Press Club. The young director has gained considerable experience as a chief assistant director in films like ‘Dhunia Tirutabur’, ‘Samiran Barua Ahi Ase’, ‘Jetuka Pator Dore’ among others. The film’s screenplay and dialogues are written by ‘Assam Fights Back’ famed Nayanmoni Saikia from a story by Pankaj Kalita. The surprise package here being the three-dimension style that Saikia employs to carry the story forward. This family-oriented movie talks about among other things the tendency of today’s youths to take the wrong path to earn easy money. The film will be produced under the banner of AK Cine Vision.
The various roles in ‘Hundred Crore’ are to be played by Bishnu Khargharia, Malaya Goswami, Pradip Nisith, Bhargav Kotoky, Simi, Trisha Saikia, Nayanmoni Saikia, Amitabh Rajkhowa, Jayashree Goswami, Rupam Sarma, Ratul Goswami, Nirmali Nilim, Sayed Ishque Alam, Mrinal Das, Gautam Sarma, Syamal Prasad Saikia and child artiste Rodali Bora. The film will be cinematographed by Manab Medhi. Editing is by Dhanjit Das. Assistant editor Joyprakash. Make-up is by Deepsikha Kalita. The film’s assistant directors are Kishaloy Dutta and Pallavi Bora. The music will be scored by Mrinmoy Bora. Production manager Mihir Kumar Bakshi. Publicity is designed by cine-journalist Rejek Ali Ahmed. The shooting, to be held in four schedules from the time of Bohag Bihu, will take place in Assam’s rural and urban locales, Kolkata and Arunachal Pradesh.
