For quite some time now, the promo of a new flick has been creating a buzz with its visual panache on the internet, giving viewers a taste of things to come.
To be released on November 24, Assamese film ‘Rum Vodka Whisky’ directed by Prasant Saikia and produced by Akash Garg under the banner of Veena International, follows the lives of three friends re-discovering the meaning of life while getting seduced by women and booze – things that are hard to get rid of. A collaborative effort on a concept that fly against the face of prevailing winds, the film features three strands of narrative, which was a really interesting challenge both for the director and the scriptwriters – filmmaker Prodyut Kumar Deka, dramatist-lyricist Rajdweep and the director himself.
The rookie director Prasant has experimented with various forms and styles in his debut film, helped to a great extent by his close-knit crew of technicians.
The film features Hiranya Das, Queen Hazarika, Udayan Duarah, Priyanka Bhargav, Ananta B. Sarania, Durgashri Bora, Rupam Barua, Moon Rajiv, Prakash Medhi, etc. The songs are sung by Tridip Basumatary, Queen Hazarika and Amrita Lahkar. The music is scored by Tridip Basumatary, lyrics penned by Rajdweep, Tridip Basumatary and Raj Agnihotri. The film’s cinematography is done by Papu Deka, while Deepak Dey is the choreographer, and editing is by Abhijit Roy and Hirakjyoti Pathak.
