Assamese Thriller ‘Khawoi – The Danger Zone’ Releases

Movies made in the thriller genre have always engaged audiences. Very few filmmakers have actually experimented with this genre in Assamese movies. A twist-laden thriller ‘Khawoi – The Danger Zone’ has hit the theatres in the State. The film, directed by Umesh Ghosh and produced by Rajat Sarkar under the banner of Trends Entertainment, got released all over on December 11. The film’s screenplay and dialogues are written by Himangshu Sharma and Venkam Verzeen from a story by director Umesh Ghosh.

A relaxing vacation turns into a nightmare for eight people as they find themselves trapped in the woods and haunted down by strange, horrible and unprecedented forces. ‘Khawoi – The Danger Zone’ is about their struggle to survive by any means possible.

Various roles in this action entertainer are enacted by Indumouli, newcomer Anamika Barman, Manab Pratim, Karabi Sarma, Kapilkrish Borah, Krisur Bidhan, Moon Kumar Saikia, Reeya Phukan, Jitu Das, Lakhya Deep, Jitu Saikia, Venkam Verzeen and Md Ali. The music is scored by Nibir. Music arrangement is by Pulok Nath and Matrix. Background music is scored by Nilotpal. Songs are rendered by Jublee, Nibir, Hiya and Matrix.

Leading heroine Anamika with her manic energy has already made a name for herself with action-oriented roles in various serials. In ‘Khawoi – The Danger Zone’, she’s a force to be reckoned with as she showcases her awesome stunts and fighting capabilities. The actress had undergone extensive training in martial arts before shooting started. Leading hero Indumouli is no stranger to action scenes. He had already shown his abilities in ‘Suma Paraxate’.

The shooting took place at different locations of Cherrapunji, Nongstoin, Karbi Anglong and Sonapur. The film’s cinematography and editing are also done by the director Umesh Ghosh himself. Action choreography and designing are done by Pradeep-Bhabesh (ATC). Choreography is done by Jintu and Akash. Make-up is by Jitu Das and Dhruba Kaishyap. The film’s assistant director is Venkam Verzeen. Art direction is by Jintu, Diganta and Akash. Production controller is Binod and Junu Debnath. The project partner is ATC – Accept the Challenge whereas publicity designer is Focus Media.
