Assamese film Khobh (Anguish) directed by film maker Hiren Bora has been selected for screening at the 22nd Cairo International Cinema and Arts Festival for Children. The festival will be held at Cairo, Egypt from March 20 to 27.
Khobh depicts a story of an 11-year-old boy and his younger sister who spent their childhood in the wonderful ambience of rural Assam, and once relocated to Guwahati how they have to face tremendous conflict and contradiction when they join a big school full of students hailing from well-to-do families. Bishnu Kharghoria, Dr Iftikar Ahmed, Nishita Goswami, Bibhuti Hazarika, Aparna Dutta Choudhury, Rita Bora, Abhilash and Harshita are playing key roles in the film.
Earlier, Khobh was screened at the prestigious Kolkata International Film Festival and Karnataka International Children Film Festival.
