Eminent film maker Hiren Bora directed Assamese feature film Khoobh (Anguish) has been selected for the 20th edition of prestigious Kolkata International Film Festival to be held from November 10 to 17 2014. Shankar Lal Goenka is the producer of the film. Incidentally, last year Jadumoni Dutta’s Paani and Manju Borah’s Ko: Yad were selected for this prestigious film festival.
Khoobh (Anguish) depicts a story of an 11-year-old boy and his younger sister who spent their childhood in the wonderful ambience of rural Assam, and once relocated to Guwahati how they have to face tremendous conflict and contradiction when they join a big school full of students hailing from well-to-do families.
Bishnu Kharghoria, Dr Iftikar Ahmed, Nishita Goswami, Bibhuti Hazarika, Aparna Dutta Choudhury, Rita Bora, Abhilash and Harshita are playing key roles in Khoobh (Anguish). Music is composed by Torali Sharma.
Notably, Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) is an annual film festival held in Kolkata. Founded in 1995, it is the second oldest international film festival in India.
