Sringkhal (The Quiver), an Assamese film based on a short story written by eminent Assamese writer Bhabendra Nath Saikia is all set to release on 17th October, 2014. Incidentally, it will be the 1st Assamese movie to be released in the month of October.
The film highlights the acute poverty of people in a village of Assam and how poverty impacts a lonely woman and her children in taking life decisions in the 80s. The key roles in Sringkhal are played by two Bollywood actors Adil Hussain from Assam and Jaya Seal. Other roles are played by Badal Das, Saurabh Hazarika, etc. The film was selected for Chennai International Film Festival 2013 (12-19 Dec).
Directed by Prabin Hazarika, Sringkhal is co-produced by the Assam State Film (Finance and Development) Corporation Limited with Preeti Saikia, Partha Pratim Bora, Sangeeta Saikia, Dipendra Patowary and Prabin Hazarika.
Music of Sringkhal is composed by Manash Hazrika and Sidhartha Barua is the cinematographer. Editing is done by Niranjan Gogoi.
