With an aim to revive and promote the film industry in the Northeast region, Meghalaya’s national award-winning filmmaker, Pradip Kurbah and Zubeen Garg are genuinely looking forward to working together in a new movie. Hinting at the possibility of working together with the ‘Onaatah’s director, Zubeen Garg recently told media persons in Shillong that he along with Kurbah are indeed planning to work together. Garg also said that he wasn’t afraid to take risks and experiment with various forms and styles.
Meanwhile, Pradip Kurbah also hinted on the same lines. “We did discuss about doing a project together, though we are not yet certain. I do have a script which I wanted to do with him (Zubeen)” he said. Both are busy with new projects at the moment.
Garg was in Meghalaya recently to promote ‘Mission China’ which has breathed new life into a beleaguered industry. It is unlikely that ‘Mission China’ would have made such an impact, beyond anyone’s wildest dreams, without the overwhelming star appeal of Zubeen Garg.
The popular artiste first visited the North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) where a large impatient crowd greeted him. Garg interacted with the students and sang a few songs before proceeding towards St. Anthony’s College which also witnessed a huge rush of fans and students.
Later in the evening Garg also met the Lajong FC players at Anjalee Cinema hall.
The film broke every other record in just three days, including that of ‘Bahubali’.
Besides Zubeen Garg, the film also stars Deeplina Deka, Siddhartha Nipon Goswami, Yankee Parashar, Pabitra Rabha, Sattyakee D’com Bhuyan, Tridib Lahon, Nabadweep Borgohain, Parthasarathi Mahanta, Bibhuti Bhushan Hazarika, Bhashwati Bharati, Ragini Parashar, Priyanka Bharali. Debosmita Banerjee makes a special appearance in the song ‘Raat Jale’.
The shooting of ‘Mission China’ took place in locations like Mirza, Sikkim, Shillong, Tawang, etc.
