Kothanodi : New Film on Bezbaroa’s Grandma’s Tales

Kothanodi (The River of Fables) is a new feature film about four mothers, based on the events and characters described in popular Assamese folk tales compiled in the anthology ‘বুঢ়ী আইৰ সাধু’ or Grandma’s Tales, by Assamese literary luminary Lakshminath Bezbaroa. Kothanodi (The River of Fables) attempts a re-imagination of the material, without distorting the stories' original dramatic premises.

The film is directed by Bhaskar Hazarika. Screenplay is written by Bhaskar Hazarika himself and dialogues are written by noted writer Dr. Arupa Patangia-Kalita. Kothanodi’s (The River of Fables) music is composed by Amarnath Hazarika.

Seema Biswas, Zerifa Wahid, Adil Hussain, Urmila Mahanta, Kopil Bora, Asha Bordoloi, Jolly Laskar, Kashvi Sharma, Monisha Bhuyan, Pradhan Deori, Dr Jayanta Das are key actors in the film. At this moment, Kothanodi is looking for crowd funding via Wishberry with a target of 20 lakhs.
