‘Love in Tawang’ in Post-Production

After wrapping up filming amidst the beautiful settings of Arunachal's Tawang, Dibang, Bhalukpung, etc, Assamese film 'Love in Tawang' is now busy with dubbing after its editing was completed.

After making its foray in movie production with 'Mahasamar' based on environment conservation, which was also a comeback vehicle for veteran director Jones Mohalia, Tezpur's Siddhartha Telefilms' new venture, directed by Dipak Nath, follows the romantic relationship between two lovers hailing from Assam and its neighbouring State Arunachal. The film attempts to bridge the cultural and emotional distance growing among various communities living in hills and plains. The film's story, script and dialogues are also written by Dipak Nath. Apart from playing a very prominant role, Nath, a cultural activist of Tezpur, was the storywriter of 'Mahasamar'. He was adjudged as the second best actor at the annual Rodali awards.

Apart from the scenic locations that promise to offer considerable visual stimulation, the film also brings into fore Arunachali culture and customs, and the influences of modernity upon the traditional way of life.

Newcomers, Dhruv and Spainee, are playing the leading romantic pair in the movie. Director Nath is quite pleased with their performances. Others in the casts of artistes are Arun Nath, Atul Pachoni, Subhash Mudok, Biswajeet Hazarika, Juri Devi, Simashree Bora, etc. 'Love in Tawang' also features three popular artistes from Monpa and Bhutanese cinema. The three artistes from Arunachal are Jambey Tenzin, Changtasi and Rizong Bey Tamblung Rijomba Tamlong.

Cinematographed by Hiten Thakuria with the Red MX camera, 'Love in Tawang's music is scored by Abhijit Barman and Dipak Nath. The film has five songs in all. Three of them are in Assamese, while the other two are in English and Hindi. The lyrics to all the songs are written by Dipak Nath. The songs are rendered by Zubeen Garg, Dikshu, Priyanka Bhorali, Barnali Kalita, Manoj Kashyap, Satyasandha Hazarika and Kabita Das. Choreography is done by Uday Shankar. The film is edited by Diganta Khaund. Make-up is by Prashanta Bora. The film's chief assistant director is Jayanta Sarma. Hemen Bora is the film's production controller.

In his directorial debut, Nath has given emphasis to impeccable locations and music with an eye on the tastes and inclinations of the present day audiences.
