Assamese Film ‘Love in Tawang’ to Release on March 11

Assamese film ‘Love in Tawang’ has been scheduled for release on March 11 all over. Besides Silchar, the movie will hit the theatres in two other different centres. After making its foray in movie production with a venture based on deforestation titled ‘Mahasamar’, Tezpur's Siddhartha Telefilms' new venture, directed by Dipak Nath, follows a bittersweet romance between young lovers hailing from profoundly different cultures. After Prafulla Barua’s ‘Rashmirekha’, this film made with the new generation in mind, is yet another attempt to build a bridge between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. The film's story, script and dialogues are also written by Dipak Nath. Apart from playing a very prominant role, Nath, a cultural activist of Tezpur, was the storywriter of 'Mahasamar'. He was also adjudged the second best actor at the annual Rodali awards.

Apart from the scenic locations that promise to offer considerable visual stimulation, the film with its unexpected twists and turns, also brings into fore Arunachali culture and customs, the influences of modernity upon the traditional way of life, and the growing cultural and emotional distance among various communities living in hills and plains.

The leading romantic pair in the movie is being played by newcomers, Dhruv and Spainee. Director Nath is quite pleased with their performances. Others in the casts of artistes are Arun Nath, Atul Pachoni, Subhash Mudok, Biswajeet Hazarika, Juri Devi, Simashree Bora, etc. 'Love in Tawang' also features three popular artistes from Monpa and Bhutanese cinema. The three artistes from Arunachal are Jambey Tenzin, Changtasi and Rizong Bey Tamblung.

Cinematographed by Hiten Thakuria in the beautiful locations of Arunachal's Tawang, Dibang, Bhalukpung, etc, with the Red MX camera, 'Love in Tawang's music is scored by Abhijit Barman and Dipak Nath. The film has 5 songs in all. Three of them are in Assamese, while the other two are in English and Hindi. The lyrics to all the songs are written by Dipak Nath. The songs are rendered by Zubeen Garg, Dikshu, Priyanka Bhorali, Barnali Kalita, Manoj Kashyap, Satyasandha Hazarika and Kabita Das. Choreography is done by Uday Shankar. The film is edited by Diganta Khaund. Make-up is by Prashanta Bora. The film's chief assistant director is Jayanta Sarma. Hemen Bora is the film's production controller.

In his directorial debut, Nath has given emphasis to impeccable locations with an eye on the tastes and inclinations of the present day audiences.
