Amrita Gogoi Makes Mobile Theatre Debut

After being thrust into the limelight with ‘Ahetuk’, rising star Amrita Gogoi has done pretty well for herself with her recent screen roles. The audience has found her lively and talented, and is looking forward to seeing her more often on screen. However the young star is taking a temporary break from films for the greener pastures of mobile theatre. She is all set to make her debut in the mobile theatre industry with Hengool in the upcoming 2016-17 dramatic session where she is going to play wide-ranging characters in three different plays namely ‘Bonoriya’ and ‘Bekar Bahuboli’ written by Rajdweep, and ‘Dorar Gari’ by Mridul Chutia.

Amrita is very excited with her new journey and is looking forward to it. After the success of ‘Ahetuk’, the mobile theatre parties courted Amrita with several lucrative offers, but she resisted the lure for quite sometime. However, it was Hengool’s overall set-up and the presence of Sankalpajit Hazarika and Rajdweep that made her agree to be a part of it.

“An actor’s performance is measured in the way they perform in a theatre, much like a cricketer being judged in the way they perform in a test match,” said Amrita. Amrita has given everything to her roles on screen, bringing in a lot of positive energy and is looking forward to replicate the same in mobile theatre as well. She is hopeful of getting a positive feedback from the people of Assam.

Amrita is currently undergoing taekwondo and kick boxing training under the guidance of Dipak Chetri for her role in ‘Bonoriya’. The recently released title track of ‘Bonoriya’ is getting a good deal of response from the audience. However, Amrita is yet to know the exact nature of her roles in the other two plays but she is confident of leaving a mark with the theatre-goers.
