Zubeen Garg's 'Mission China’ to Release on September 8

Zubeen Garg is perhaps one of those very few celebrities in Assam capable of galvanising mass audiences.

Amidst a flurry of activities, high voltage publicity campaigns, his much anticipated big screen spectacle ‘Mission China’ releases all over the State on September 8. The film has already aroused a huge amount of internet and media interest before its release, creating a trend for a product which is understandably market-driven.

Produced by Garima Saikia Garg and Zubeen Garg himself under the banner of 'I Creation Production', this big-budgeted film, infact the costliest Assamese movie so far, is also being released in Bengali. Apart from production costs, a substantial chunk of the budget went into its marketing and publicity campaigns. And while Zubeen Garg may have taken on a big gamble with this very expensive venture, he is proud and very pleased with the finished product. With the kind of excitement that the film has generated amongst fans, many in the industry are anticipating it to create no less than magic at the Box-Office.

Mainstream audiences are often left dissatisfied with films promising ‘wholesome’ and ‘traditional’ enjoyment. However, Garg has exuded confidence that he would be able to make a dramatic change in Assamese cinema through his quality offering. He was aware of the importance of audiences’ tastes when he made the film.

‘Mission China’ follows the trajectory of the action thriller. Its all about a journey or a mission of a retired colonel, who is appointed to rescue the daughter of the Home Minister of the State, who is kidnapped by Lama, an extremist outfit, making its presence felt on the borders of China.

Besides producing and directing, Zubeen Garg has also written the screenplay and composed the music. Cinematographed by Suman Duwarah and Pradip Daimary, the film is edited by Protim Khaund. The six songs in the film are rendered by Zubeen Garg, Nachiketa Chakraborty, Joi Barua, Amit Paul, Siddharth Hazarika, Rohit Sonar, Zublee, Satabdi Borah, Mrinmoyee Goswami and Turi. The lyrics are written by Zubeen Garg, Sasanka Samir and Sumit Acharya. A song from the film - ‘Din Jwole Raati Jwole’ generated around 1.9 lakh views within 24 hours of its release!

Besides Zubeen Garg, the film also stars Deeplina Deka, Siddhartha Nipon Goswami, Yankee Parashar, Pabitra Rabha, Sattyakee D'com Bhuyan, Tridib Lahon, Nabadweep Borgohain, Parthasarathi Mahanta, Bibhuti Bhushan Hazarika, Bhashwati Bharati, Ragini Parashar, Priyanka Bharali.
