Assamese Film ‘Hosa Prem’ to be Release on January 5th

The year’s first Assamese film ‘Hosa Prem’ has hit the theatres all over, on January 5. Much like the sun and its rays, a true love is always immortal. True love trumps fears that often render as a stumbling block. Many have experienced it, still many haven’t.

The film’s hero joins hands with some quirky, oddball characters in his bid to conquer true love. An out and out entertainer, ‘Hosa Prem’ is the type of picture the filmmakers should make more of, which in turn could stimulate viewers to come to the cinema halls. The film is a directorial debut of Pramod S, who has also written the story and script. The film stars veteran artiste Brojen Bora, newcomers Kalpa Jyoti Gogoi, Tapashree Kalita, Sangina Brahma, Manash Sarma, Rahul Das, Rajiv Kro, among others. Produced by Niladri Chowdhury under the banner of AABEGG Entertainment, the film is cinamatographed by Papu Deka, while Akhim Sarma has done the editing, and Babli Haque has scored the music from lyrics by Rekibul and Krishna Raaz.

The background music is done by Rajiv Kashyap, and the songs choreographed by Sikandar, are rendered by Zubeen Garg and Krishna Raaz. While Dilip Dutta is the chief assistant director, Bhuson Thakuria the art director, the dialogues are written by Jintumoni Kalita, and the action scenes are choreographed by B Kumbang, and the make-up is done by Biswajit Kalita. An interesting aspect is the various characters, hailing from various communities that teem the film, and who constitute the greater Assamese society, including that of Boro, Karbi, Rajbongshi, Mising, tea tribe, Marwari, Bengali, Punjabi, Nepali, etc. What’s more, the film also represents a character from each of the Northeast states.
